=University of Witwatersrand, South Africa 3-Day AtoM Workshop=

In October 2013, a 3-Day AtoM workshop was conducted in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Hosted by the University of Witwatersrand, the 3-day workshop had over 30 participants from 16 different institutions, including the University of Namibia, Desmond Tutu Peace Centre, and the National Archives. The workshop was aimed at introducing and exploring AtoM 2.0 as a multi-lingual open-source application for online archival description and arrangement in single and multi-institutional portals. Training on AtoM was provided for all participants and addressed the features and functions of the software for public users, archivists and administrators. The workshop materials were created using copies of archival records held by organizations all over Ontario, which were generously supplied by the Archives Association of Ontario. =Archives Society of Alberta (ASA) Workshop Tutorials=

In February 2013, two ICA-AtoM workshops were conducted in Edmonton, Alberta.

On Sunday, Feb.24 an ICa-AtoM Administrator Workshop was held with Carrie Lunde, Database Administrator at Archives Society of Alberta and Rene Georgopalis, Executive Director / Archives Advisor at Archives Society of Alberta. The workshop materials for this Administrator Session focused on features and functionality in ICA-AtoM 1.3 that support the Administration of the ASA online Portal. The workshop materials were created using copies of archival records held in the Archives Society of Alberta database, but are no-longer available for interaction. The workshop materials for this Authorized User Session focused on features and functionality in ICA-AtoM 1.3 that support Archival activities of archival description. The workshop materials were created using copies of archival records held in the Archives Society of Alberta database, but are no-longer available for interaction. =CARBICA Tutorial=
In August 2011 a two-day training workshop on ICA-AtoM 1.1 was presented in Curaçao and attended by members of the ICA's Caribbean section (CARBICA). In preparation for the workshop a demo version of ICA-AtoM was created using copies of archival records held by the Rare Books and Special Collections (RBSC) at the University of British Columbia Library. To encourage learning and support new users in their discovery of ICA-AtoM open-source software for archival description, a CARBICA training manual with 10 tutorials was created. The tutorials in the booklet allow users to interact with the data in the CARBICA demo version of ICA-AtoM.

== CARBICA LiveDVD Demo Troubleshooting ==

During data entry into ICA-AtoM, if you encounter a white screen after clicking the EDIT button:
*Change section of URL from "index.php" to "qubit_dev.php" and hit return. This should fix the white screen and allow you to continue data entry
*It may be necessary to make this switch from time to time
*This is most likely due to a segmentation fault caused by issue 1995 which does not affect all users

=MemoryBC Tutorial=
[http://memorybc.ca MemoryBC.ca] provides access to descriptions of archival materials held in repositories throughout the province of British Columbia, Canada. The site is run using ICA-AtoM and managed by the [http://aabc.ca Archives Association of British Columbia] (AABC). The AABC allows its institutional members to add and edit their archival descriptions in the MemoryBC portal. This tutorial is used in workshops held throughout the province to prepare users for data-entry.

* Spring 2013, [http://archivescollection.anu.edu.au Australian National University Archives] launches their 1800 collections with ICA-AtoM Software. As one of the original beta testers in 2008, the ANU has dedicated a number of years to getting their data entered into ICA-AtoM (1800 collections, over 1200 creators). The database covers two repositories representing 20 kilometers of archives: the Australian National University Archives and the Noel Butlin Archives Centre (Australian business and labour archives), as well as the virtual repository for Pacific Research Archives.
