The documentation Center of Cariri – CEDOCC is a research and archive center that gathers documents of theXVIII, XIX and XX centuries, regarding the Cariri region, located in the south of Ceará state. The CEDOCC main activities are: reception of historical documentation from government institutions, or from particular and private ones; cleaning, preservation, reading and elaboration of sources catalogs; study groups; visits scheduled for elementary and high school students of public and private schools. The collection contains criminal cases, civil cases, inventories and newspapers. The aim of the modernization project is to digitize the existing documentary collection in the CEDOCC; and strengthen the historical research about the Cariri and the Northeast region.
