Translate a description

1. You can translate both the database contents (descriptions) as well as the user interface (field labels, buttons etc). To do either, you must be logged in as a user with Translator privileges. For demo purposes, log in as "translator@ica-atom.org" with the password "translator" (for more on log in, see View / navigate / edit, step 4).

2. In the Language menu, select the language into which you want to translate. The interface switches to your selected language.

3. Any fields already translated will appear in translation; fields not yet translated will appear in the source language (for demo purposes, English).

4. Click the Title bar to switch to edit mode.

5. The original text in the source language will appear highlighted in a yellow box; enter the translation in the data entry box beneath it. Repeat for each field as required. Click the Save button.

6. ICA-AtoM ships with default translations of the interface into the supported languages. Not all elements have been completely translated in version 1.0 beta. To add a translation or edit a default one, click the Translate user interface button on the Translation bar. ICA-AtoM will display a list of all translatable elements on the current page (not illustrated). Select an element, enter or edit its translation, and click the Save translation button.
