User roles

Your user account in ICA-AtoM is tied to one of five user roles, each representing a different level of access to the system. administrators can add and modify user roles: see UM-7.2 Set up and manage user accounts: Add and edit groups.


Researcher

  • Does not require a user name or password.
  • Has view-only access to the application.
  • Is the default role whenever a user accesses the application without logging in.


Contributor

  • Is a registered user with a unique user name or password.
  • Can search, browse, create and edit descriptions.


Editor

  • Is a registered user with a unique user name or password.
  • Can search, browse, create and edit descriptions.
  • Can delete records.


Translator

  • Is a registered user with a unique user name or password.
  • Can search and browse descriptions.
  • May or may not be able to create, edit and delete records.


Administrator

  • Is a registered user with a unique user name or password.
  • Has full access to the system to create, read, update or delete any record in the system.
  • Can customize application to institution-specific requirements.
