1. You can use ICA-AtoM to upload digital objects, e.g. digital photographs, scanned images, sound and moving image files, born-digital electronic records.

  • As of the current version of ICA-AtoM (v1.0 beta), there is no way to batch upload a set of files, each must be done one at a time/

2. You can upload any file format, Add a new archival description or open an existing one to link to the digital object you want to upload.

 Click on the 'Digital Object' information area.

 Click the Browse button to navigate to and select the digital object. Click the Open button; ICA-AtoM stores a link to the digital object's path. It creates two additional images: a thumbnail and a reference display copy (in case the original image is too large to display in the ICA-AtoM interface).

 Click the Save button. When you return to the View screen, the reference copy will be displayed in the Digital object field.

 Note that at higher levels of description, the Digital object field shows all objects from all lower levels registered to it (not illustrated), e.g. the fonds record will show all digital objects in the fonds, the series all objects belonging to the series, etc.
